This role is in Strategic Engagement Group (SEG) within the Amex Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) organization. CFR SEG is designed to drive CFR priorities through short-term projects primarily covering for extended colleague leaves and may involve covering for stand-alone project needs. CFR SEG is a unique career option for high-performing individuals to rapidly get broad, diverse experience across many functional areas and to grow as a leader at American Express. This candidate will be responsible for leading key CFR initiatives globally, with a focus on minimizing credit and fraud losses while supporting company’s focus on delivering superior customer service, promoting business growth, and driving long-term change in our culture.
SEG projects are designed with clear deliverables, goals, and ownership. Projects can be short-term (2-3 months) or long-term (4-6+ months) assignments. Projects will range across credit and fraud risk functions including Credit Risk Strategy, Decision Science, Fraud, Credit Bust Out, Banking and Payment Risk, Operational Risk and Process Excellence or/and Product and Data Strategy. Projects will range across products – personal, business, card, non-card loan, bank accounts, or/and merchant.
Key responsibilities:
? Solve for range of business problems and work with business partners to: Decide which customers should receive a card or loan offer and which product best fits their needs; Decide what charges should be approved or declined at the point of sale; Set credit limits based on our customers’ needs and borrowing capacity; Create industry-best algorithms to mitigate fraudulent use of our products; Design and execute p roduct and data strategy; Ensure operational risk and process excellence; or/and Design digital experiences for risk servicing.
? Lead engagements that deliver incremental value by minimizing credit and fraud losses while delivering superior customer service and promoting growth.
Qualifications
Experience and Background:
? 4+ years of experience in risk management or a similar role.
? Strong business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
? Experience in solving business problem analytically.
? Demonstrated learning agility with a proven track record of driving quality results.
? Experience in at-least two of the following: analytical language, databases, operation risk, or strategic project management.
? Advanced degree in business, economics, engineering, mathematics, operation research, statistics, or related field is preferred.
? Prior Amex CFR experience is a plus.
Leadership Skills :
? Strong relationship and influence management skills with ability to work with multiple partner and leadership style.
? Self-confident with a strong sense of integrity and the ability and willingness to challenge and be challenged.
? Attention to details with ability to see the forest from the trees.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
