The primary responsibility of this role is to safely manage freight and returns throughout the logistics network using the highest quality processes at the lowest transportation cost (right pallet, right place, right time). Reporting to the Mexico Logistics Operations … Planning Manager, the person in this role will support the Mexico Operations & Planning team objective to lead continuous improvement of freight management processes/procedures across North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMC) while incorporating a passion for innovation and process improvement into daily management cycles. What you?ll be doing Self-reliant, single point of contact, who manages all aspects of external logistics related to Mexico/US border crossings Manage system and process implementation from Toyota Manufacturing North America (TMNA) to all logistics operations related to above activity Serve as the Toyota representative for all operational issues, working with the Over the Road, Docks, Border Crossing Locations, Border Crossing Document Creation Teams, and Customs and Compliance, to ensure flawless logistics support for all operations Manage Logistics Cost Budget Creation and Management for Mexico operations including, the monthly analysis, and kaizen requirements to ensure competitiveness and profitability Managing Monthly Billing to ensure accuracy of invoice transactions to ensure proper payment in a timely manner Ensure timely and accurate transmission of shipment data to downstream users Manage the daily plan versus actual for logistics and operations Monitor trends and data for ?end-to-end? management of assigned lanes Lead problem solving activities to drive continuous Improvement with all touchpoints in the assigned lanes Manage multiple Logistics Partners and customs brokers to ensure timely border crossings, yard and trucking processes, management and visualization Lead cross functional process improvement (JKK) and Problem Solving (TBP) Lead problem solving, crisis management, and abnormal condition resolution, providing training for actions taken during supplier, logistics and production crises Ensure all actions taken are in line with abnormal process and instruction to ensure no plant impact Lead Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost kaizen activities to ensure all KPI are met/exceeded What you bring Bachelor?s Degree or higher or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Industrial Engineering Analytics Experience working and negotiating with suppliers and logistic providers Experience with progressive Trade or Logistics, such as incorporating Federal Trade regulations and adjusting supply chain processes accordingly Project management experience, including project creation, KPI tracking, and reporting out project status through to completed project Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint Ability to respond to work tasks during off shift hours, including weekends Added bonus if you have Experience with or exposure to Mexico/US Trade Regulations and their application to the Trade processes and the Global Supply Chain network Knowledge of/ exposure to Cross Dock, separation or distribution centers Experience with Manufacturing Parts ordering Experience with Microsoft Power BI Spanish language fluency, both verbal and written Proficiency utilizing Freight/Logistics Tracking software such as FVM, TSCS, LIOS or similar What we?ll bring During your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
