Barnes & Noble Education is seeking an IT Security Engineer to join our dynamic team! The IT Security Engineer will proactively and reactively resolve security issues and vulnerabilities and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with PCI, SOX and other regulatory requirements. Within this role, the incumbent will not only maintain security systems and run vulnerability scans but will also verify and resolve any issues relating to the network infrastructure that is not in compliance with the company policy. How You’ll Make an Impact
? Manage corporate MDM system
? Administer and support URL filtering and SIEM environments
? Support the operations of the Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Protection, and Identity Management tools, as required
? Assess network compliance using scanning tools to verify Firewall rules, Router ACL?s, and IP addressing
? Utilize port scanners and packet capture utilities to verify servers/applications are communicating according to documentation
? Perform security audits of new and existing systems to verify compliance with company policy
? Verify that the configuration of network equipment is compliant with company policies
? Evaluate software for performing Information Security tasks
? Troubleshoot various issues across multiple applications and platforms
? Actively participate and create test scenarios for proof of concepts of hardware and software being considered for implementation
? Provide recommendations to balance potential cyber risks and enable our business to achieve success
? Additional responsibilities as required
What You’ll Need to Succeed
? 3 years of experience in an Information Security Analyst or Administrator role
? Utilize port scanners and packet capture utilities to verify servers/applications are communicating according to documentation
? Familiarity with SIEM, URL Filtering, File Integrity Monitoring, CNAPP, Vulnerability Management, and Endpoint Protection
? Knowledge of technologies such as Active Directory, Linux (CentOS, SUSE, Ubuntu), Metasploit Pro, and Shell Scripting is a plus
? Must be able to take the initiative and work effectively independently and as a cross-functional team member
? Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
? Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills

The hiring rate for this position is $70000 / year. The actual pay may vary based on a number of factors, including professional experience, hiring location, skills, competencies, and may fall outside of the range shown.
